Fortaleza is one of the eight host cities of the FIFA Women's World Cup Brazil 2027, held from 24 June to 25 July 2027. Its stadium, Arena Castelão, hosts nine matches, the second-highest number of any venue, tied with the Maracanã. If you are travelling for the games, you will have free days between matches. Plan your free days between matches
Group matches in Fortaleza are two to four days apart, so most visitors have at least one full free day between games. All RN Tur tours leave from Fortaleza and return the same evening. To be safe, avoid booking a long trip on a match day.
One free day: a beach close to Fortaleza
- Cumbuco, about 30 km away: calm water, dunes and an optional buggy ride. R$ 55 per person.
- Beach Park, Latin America's largest water park, in Aquiraz: round-trip transport R$ 55 per person (park ticket not included).
- Lagoinha, about 120 km away: green water, hammocks in the lagoons, jangada sailboats. R$ 75 per person.
- Canoa Quebrada, Morro Branco and Praia das Fontes in one day with a buggy ride on the coloured cliffs. R$ 170 per person.
Two or more free days: Jericoacoara
Jericoacoara is the most famous beach village in Brazil's northeast, about 300 km from Fortaleza. Between 28 June and 2 July, and again between 13 and 17 July, there are three free days with no match in Fortaleza. That is enough time for a transfer to Jericoacoara and a night or two in the village. With only one day, take the Jericoacoara day trip (R$ 180 per person), which includes the Sunset Dune.
Getting around
- Fortaleza Airport (Pinto Martins, FOR) is the main international gateway for the city.
- Jericoacoara Airport (Cruz/Jijoca) is about 35 km from the village. We do transfers from the airport to the village from R$ 85 per person.
